USA Hockey has a zero-tolerance policy for racial slurs and other discriminatory language. The policy applies to all levels of play, including youth, adult, and national teams. 

Penalty 

• A player who uses a racial slur is given a match penalty, which includes:
  • A five-minute penalty
  • Disqualification from the game
  • Suspension until a hearing is held
• The offending player may face additional discipline

Investigation 

• The player's affiliate or junior league has up to 30 days to investigate and hold a hearing
• The affiliate or junior league can also impose additional punishment

Any player / coach who uses language that is hateful or discriminatory in nature anywhere in the rink before, during or after the game shall be penalized under Rule 601(e. 3) resulting in a match penalty . Such behavior is reprehensible and has absolutely no place in our game.
